What if aggression is a symptom of another medical issue and not just part of your child's current diagnosis? I often get told, I try this with my child and that therapy and this service and they still have this behavior. That is because there is something else in their body driving the behavior.
Many doctors dismiss this behavior as part of autism, adhd or oppositional defiance disorder. What doctors don't do is explore the why of this symptom. Why is this child acting like this? Sometimes there is a psychological reason but many times there is a physiological reason for the behavior. Once that reason is correctly identified, a child can be put on a treatment plan that can possibly help alleviate this symptom.
Potential Medical Causes for Aggression Can Include One or More of the Following:
Unidentified pain
Bacterial overgrowth in the gut
PANS/PANDAS
Lyme and co-infections
Food allergies
Impaired detoxification
Vitamin and mineral deficiency
Heavy metal toxicity
Hormonal imbalances
Brain imbalance - right hemisphere dominance or left hemisphere dominance
At Warriors of Care we get to the root cause of behaviors. We believe diagnoses like autism, adhd, ocd are all symptoms of other things going on in the body. Once we identify what that issue is, we can than help get your child onto a treatment plan to help heal them and alleviate their symptoms.
